Current status
Checked on 2026-09-06. Multiple Steam Bug Reports describe players loading a Mortal Shell II save on Steam Deck and receiving late-game achievements early, including Stoned, Bring My Ova Back to Me, So Fresh, So Clean, Sat Nav, Shell Seeker, Guns, Lots of Guns, and Lord of War. The evidence supports a Steam achievement-sync warning for PC-to-Deck players. It does not prove that every achievement can be forced, that the unlocks are intended, or that Valve or the developer will retroactively change a profile.
What to do now
Before switching devices again, let Steam finish Cloud Sync on the current device and take screenshots of the achievement list, playtime, save slot, and current objective. If achievements unlocked unexpectedly, do not delete the local save or try to roll Steam Cloud backward unless official support tells you to. Continue only after deciding whether you care about a clean achievement route, because replaying organically may not undo already granted platform achievements.
How to isolate the trigger
Record whether the save was created on PC, loaded on Steam Deck, moved back to PC, or played offline. Note whether the game was updated between device switches and whether Steam showed a Cloud conflict. If you can reproduce the issue on a separate low-risk save, report that path. Do not test on your only completion save.
Achievement route caution
If you are building a 100% route, separate in-game completion from platform achievement timestamps. A Steam profile can show the achievement even if the current save has not reached the matching milestone. For guide use, verify unlock conditions from current retail play or official patch notes rather than using a bugged timestamp as proof of a mechanic.
